CrowdSec joins Cloud Security Alliance
Paris, Feb 2021 – CrowdSec, the cybersecurity company behind the eponymous collaborative security tool, announced today announced today that it has joined the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), the world’s leading organization dedicated to defining and raising awareness of best practices to help ensure a secure cloud computing environment.
CrowdSec designed an open-source and free massively multiplayer firewall, relying both on IP behavior and IP reputation. It identifies threats and shares IP addresses behind malevolent behaviors across its community to allow everyone to block them preventively. Already used in 70+ countries over six continents, the solution builds a real-time IP reputation database that keeps growing every day and benefits all community members.
CrowdSec was designed to be used in a cloud environment, to be false-positive resilient, privacy respectful, and RGPD-compliant. In 2021, a premium offer will be launched, allowing businesses to access the IP reputation database through an API access. The product will then protect any exposed resource on the Internet such as servers, containers, VMs, and IoT objects, by just adding a few lines of configuration.
By joining the CSA, CrowdSec intends to join forces with subject matter experts to keep shaping the cloud security of the future. In a world where all IP addresses are scanned hundreds to a thousand times per day in search of vulnerabilities, the CrowdSec will help to offer an additional, efficient, layer of security to the greatest number.
“CrowdSec’s collaborative approach to security combined with their solid technology will definitely be a game changer in securing our cloud environments in the years to come. We are thrilled to see them join the CSA and bring their expertise to make the cloud more secure”, said Jim Reavis, CEO, Cloud Security Alliance.
